An incredible documentary by Kanaka Maoli Lisette Kaualena Flanary, One Voice is both the story of the Kamehameha School’s annual Song Contest and a backstory on the native Hawaiian participants. I saw this at the Honolulu International Film Festival in 2010. My favorite part was following a student back to her ancestral home of Molokai and her going through the ceremonies of reconnecting with her aumakua. This is a wonderful documentary.
